Description Photograph shows soldiers and band members standing on Stilwell Field with Officers Circle in the background. Ca. 1874-78 large albumen photo of Guard Mount of the 14th Infantry in front of officers' quarters at Fort Douglas, Utah. The guard of 3 officers and 16 enlisted men and non coms, wearing full dress uniforms, are standing at "Parade Rest". The traditional musician infantry shakos of the regimental band have been set aside for 1872-pattern cavalry dress helmets. Their dress coats have been modified by the addition of Austrian knots on the cuffs and fringed cloth epaulets on their shoulders. A rare Fort Douglas photograph.
